My fiance and I have been engaged for over 3 years. We have been together for almost 6. I need some ideas for a cheap wedding. Neither of our families can afford to help. I dont know what the best way to go is.

Make the food yourself. (It helps to keep a small guest list). Look into renting a local church hall or fire hall. These tend to be cheaper than a resort or banquet center. You can have a seamstress make your dress or get one a little cheaper from www. bridesave. com. If a friend has a good digital camera, he or she can take pictures. Good luck with everything! It will be an awesome day for you!
Go church and get married
My husband & I were in the same situation. We found a cheap photagrapher & just checked around for prices on everything else. Many of your local florists can help you with a budget on your flowers as well as a cake decorator. We got an account with our florist, & make a small monthly payment. If you don’t want to do the photagrapher, have a friend or family member take a pic of you for an invitation. Walmart or Sams Club can do prints for about . 20 cent per pic. Make your own invitations, they can be cheap & you don’t have to include a pic if you don’t want to. There’s always a bunch of different options.
We got married in our church & didn’t have to pay to rent it, we just had to schedule it.
walmart for all of the things that you will need and maybe at a gazebo or a local park that is nice. My wedding cost about 3 or 4 hundred dollars. You can also get married at the court house by a judge in his chambers that’s what we did then we has an actuall formal ceremony that night. go to your local court clerks office for info about a judge marrying you
Have it in a backyard, 30 or 40 close family & friends, make your invites on your computer, keep your menu simple, look for your wedding dress on line or at a consignment shop better yet the sale rack of your fav dept. store, get the flowers from your local whole saler, make your own bouquet, instead of center pieces lots of candles, no liquor just punch & soda. Even cheaper do a champainge & cake wedding with hor’dorves. Keep it simple, casual & personalized. Ask for help from family & friends with donating chairs, tables & ask your paster to donate his/her services. Make it about the 2 of you & not all the other stuff and you should be ok.
It’s hard to put together a wedding on a budget. I had a simple church wedding in March. I did the invitations & programs, food, & flowers myself and we still spent $3000. Here’s a couple sites to help give you some ideas. Good luck!
