I don’t plan on having a unity candle at my ceremony but for the few people that have had them, the bride and groom’s mothers lit them right before the ceremony with some basic “chapel” music playing.
One song should be long enough. If you are having a musician(s) play they can play that one song until the candles are lit. Or if you are using a CD, the same song should be long enough for the ushers to light the candles…if you are afraid that the song will end before the candles are lit, record the song back to back or have the sound dept or technician put the song on repeat before it is played.
